Montreal Jazz Fest Gives Béla Fleck & The Flecktones the Miles Davis Award

For the first time ever, the Montreal Jazz Fest is giving the Miles Davis Award to a group, rather than a single artist. The Miles Davis Award was created for the Festival’s 15th anniversary in 1994 to honor a great international jazz musician for the entire body of his or her work and influence in regenerating the jazz idiom.

The Flecktones play Montreal Jazz Fest on July 1st.
