Throw Down Your Heart, Tales From the Acoustic Planet Vol 3, 2 CDs – parts one and two. These albums, the tours and the documentary came out of an incredible trip I took with my brother Sascha in 2005 to Uganda, Tanzania, Mali and The Gambia to jam with incredible local musicians, and to research the roots of the banjo in West Africa.

The film can be viewed on Netflix or purchased from New Video. The New Video version has an extra hour of extra footage, so if you dug the film on Netflix and want to see some more – that’s where you can find some.

The touring has been amazing, and bringing many of these wonderful musicians to the US for the first time has been extremely gratifying.

Tours so far have included: with: D’Gary (Madagascar), Anania Ngoliga (Tanzania), Vusi Mahlesela (South Africa) and Toumani Diabate (Mali). with Bassekou Kouyate and N’Goni Ba (Mali), with Anania Ngoliga.

Australia, Europe, Canada and the US with Oumou Sangare Band, she being the amazing Malian Songbird. US and Canada with Toumani Diabate, the elegant kora virtuoso from Mali.
